San Francisco Police Make Human Trafficking Arrest

- Police have arrested a 20-year-old man after he allegedly participated in the kidnapping of 19-year-old woman in San Francisco's Mission District last week, police said Friday.

On April 8, around 1:30 a.m. a group of suspects allegedly forced the victim into a vehicle near 20th and Shotwell streets, according to police.

The suspects then took the victim to Santa Clara County, where she managed to escape and contacted authorities a short while later.

James Powell, 31, was arrested on suspicion of human trafficking after an investigation into the whereabouts of a missing Citrus Heights teen led detectives to the discovery of several victims in the Camarillo area. Man Charged With Human Trafficking In Anne Arundel County

LINTHICUM, Md. (AP) — A New York man is accused of assault and profiting off three women engaging in prostitution in Maryland.

Anne Arundel County police said in a release Monday that Vice Unit detectives conducting a prostitution sting arrested 34-year-old Ondray Lamar Pleasant on Feb. 22.

The detectives had made online contact with two women, who told them come to a hotel room where they found three women linked to prostitution activity. Pleasant was taken into custody at a nearby business.

Former Schwartzeneger Advisor and 500+ Arrested In Statewide Human Trafficking Operation

Daniel Pellisier, a former advisor to Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, was arrested by the Citrus Heights Police Department as part of a human trafficking crackdown.


A man who once advised former Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger was one of four alleged "johns" arrested by police in Citrus Heights, Calif., as part of a statewide human trafficking crackdown.

Daniel Pellisier was arrested by the Citrus Heights Police Department, in Sacramento County, as part of Operation Reclaim and Rebuild, a three-day sweep led by the Los Angeles County Regional Human Trafficking Task Force. The crackdown led to more than 500 arrests, including 30 suspected traffickers and 178 alleged "johns."

Third Suspect Arrested In Fayetteville Teen Sex Trafficking Case

Detectives with the Fayetteville Police Department's Human Trafficking Unit have charged and arrested a third suspect in connection with a human trafficking investigation that began in September involving a 16-year-old victim.

 Ashley Skinner, 23, of the 3500 block of Ireland Drive, has been charged with felony promoting prostitution of a minor and felony conspiracy to commit human trafficking of a minor victim.

Skinner was taken to the Cumberland County Detention Center and is being held on a $10,000 secured bond.

A second suspect, Antonio T. McAllister, 33, of the 1900 block of Tryon Drive, was arrested October 11 and and charged with human trafficking a child victim, contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile, promoting prostitution of a minor, felony conspiracy to commit human trafficking of a minor, second-degree forcible rape, and assault on a female.

Las Vegas Man Sentenced To 8 Years In Prison For Pimping 16-Year-Old Girl In Costa Mesa

Las Vegas man was sentenced Monday to eight years in state prison after pleading guilty to pimping a 16-year-old Utah girl in Costa Mesa.

Brandon Antwan Hunter, 31, appeared in Orange County Superior Court on Monday for a scheduled preliminary hearing but instead pleaded guilty to charges of human trafficking of a minor, pimping a minor, pandering a minor and unlawful sexual intercourse, all felonies, according to court records.

Hunter, who identified himself in jail records as a producer, will be required to register as a sex offender, according to prosecutors.

Man Charged With Human Trafficking In Waco Arrested On Similar Accusations In 2 Other States

A Texas man accused of similar offenses in at least two other states was arrested on a human trafficking charge Tuesday in Waco during an undercover operation by the McLennan County Sheriff's Office.

An undercover investigator made a prostitution arrangement with a woman and agreed to meet at a local motel, according to an arrest affidavit.

While conducting surveillance, investigators saw Donquell James Allen, 29, leave the room where the woman agreed to meet and go to a car in the parking lot, the affidavit states. A detective went to the motel room and met the woman who was detained for investigation purposes.

PCPD: Pair charged with human trafficking, forced prostitution

According to PCPD, more than one victim reported being coerced by Crystal Marshall and Tyler Culver to perform prostitution in return for room and board.

PANAMA CITY — Two Bay County residents remain behind bars on human trafficking and prostitution charges after being swept up in a police sting operation, according to arrest reports.

Crystal Leeann Marshall, 31, and Tyler Firand Culver, 27, recently had an arraignment date scheduled on the charges. They were arrested Nov. 18 at the La Quinta Inn, 1030 E. 23rd St., after meeting with undercover agents to allegedly arrange a sexual encounter with a victim. Marshall and Culver remain in custody at the Bay County Jail on bonds of $36,500 and $26,000, respectively, court records stated.

Human Trafficking Victim Turns In Alleged Abuser

Bradenton, Fla. -- Human trafficking, also known as modern-day slavery, is a crime some victims are too ashamed to report.

The numbers are staggering. According to dosomething.org between 14 and 17-thousand people are trafficked into the US each year, generating $32 billion dollars.

Recently, a Manatee County man was arrested on human trafficking. Deputies arrested 41-year-old Juan Cruz Jr. after one victim turned him in to deputies.

“Bravo to her to have the courage to come forward,” said Bradenton Police Chief Melanie Bevan. Florida Governor Rick Scott recently appointed Bevan to the Governor’s State Council on Human Trafficking.

"Ramsay the Great" Hip Hop Producer Pleads Guilty To Human Trafficking

ANAHEIM, CA — A 25-year-old Granada Hills resident and hip-hop music producer known as "Ramsay Tha Great" was sentenced to 10 years in prison for pimping four women in Orange County.

Brandon Christopher Ramsay pleaded guilty Tuesday to four counts of pimping and pandering, and one count each of human trafficking and assault with a firear — all felonies.

British Model Drugged, Stuffed In Suitcase In Sex Trafficking Attempt, Police Say

CBS News reports that in

ROME -- A 30-year-old man has been arrested in the alleged kidnapping of a young British model who thought she was traveling to Milan for a photo shoot, but instead was drugged, stuffed into a suitcase and handcuffed inside a home in northern Italy before being released, Milan police announced Saturday.

Police identified the suspect as Lukasz Pawel Herba, a Polish citizen with British residency. They said he was jailed for investigation of suspected kidnapping for extortion purposes.

Jury Convicts Pair For Sex Trafficking Of Children In Ohio

CLEVELAND — A man in prison for child rape and an Ohio woman were convicted Friday in Cleveland of dozens of counts related to the sex trafficking of children as young as 9 years old.

The jury convicted Andre Boynton, 42, and Anika George, 39, of North Royalton, on charges that include human trafficking, conspiracy and multiple counts of child rape and child pornography, a news release said.  They are scheduled to be sentenced Aug. 25. George’s attorney declined to comment Saturday. Boynton’s attorney did return telephone messages seeking comment.

9 Dead In Texas Suspected Human Trafficking Operation After Cops Find Dozens In Sweltering Trailer At Walmart Parking Lot


Nine people were found dead early Sunday inside a sweltering trailer at a Walmart parking lot in southwest San Antonio, and dozens more suffered from heat-related injuries in a suspected human trafficking operation, police and fire officials said.

Police made the tragic discovery after a man managed to get out of the truck and ask a Walmart employee for water, San Antonio Police Chief William McManus said. Some of the passengers escaped into a nearby wooded area as police opened the trailer, McManus said.

3 Nashville Businesses Raided In Prostitution, Money Laundering Investigation

NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -
Metro police have raided three businesses that they believe are involved in prostitution and human trafficking.


Police claim the three businesses have been serving as fronts for prostitution for several months.

Officers searched Shine Nails on Elm Hill Pike on Thursday morning. They said when they walked into the store, they caught a man undressed in a back room with a female employee. He was given a misdemeanor citation.

Missouri Businesses Raided for Alleged Human Trafficking

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (AP) – More than a dozen businesses advertising as massage parlors in Springfield were raided as part of a multi-state investigation into human trafficking, Attorney General Josh Hawley announced Thursday.

Hawley and Greene County Prosecutor Daniel Patterson also filed a lawsuit Thursday seeking emergency orders to shut down the businesses. Hawley said young Asian immigrant females are being held against their will for sexual contact with customers under the guise of providing massages.

JPSO: Rape Victim's Case Leads To Arrest Of Metairie Human Trafficking Suspect

METAIRIE, LA (WVUE) -
A Metairie man has been arrested for one count of first-degree rape and one count of false imprisonment, and the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office is urging anyone else who has been victimized to come forward.

On July 9, deputies were dispatched to the 2100 block of Manson Drive in Metairie in what was initially a medical call for a female with a leg injury sustained in a fall.  Deputies determined that the woman was trying to escape a physically abusive relationship, and that she had injured her leg while climbing out of a window to get away from 35-year-old Keston Mimmitt. Mimmitt was initially at the location, but left as the woman was being treated.

Third Person Charged In Jessup Human Trafficking Case

Police: 16-year-old girl was forced into prostitution

Howard County police have arrested a third person in connection with a human trafficking investigation involving a 16-year-old girl.

Jessica Lynn Smitherman, 31, of Laurel, was charged with human trafficking. Police said investigators believe that Smitherman conspired with Andre Lamar Russell, 28, of Laurel, and Heather Lynn Harding, 23, of Woodbine, in late May and early June to force the teen into prostitution at motels in Jessup.

Hudson Man Sentenced For Sex Trafficking Homeless Woman In Woodbury

A Washington County judge has sentenced a Hudson, Wis., man to more than seven years in prison for his role in the sex trafficking of a homeless woman.

Adam James Krimpelbein, 32, was convicted May 24 on felony charges of aiding and abetting sex trafficking. He was one of two men accused of trying to traffic a 31-year-old woman who was listed as a missing person under civil commitment.

Human Trafficking Becoming A Growing Concern In Fort Worth


City Council members learned Tuesday that Dallas/Fort Worth and Houston are the two Texas metro areas with the highest numbers of human-trafficking cases.

“Human trafficking is an issue,” said Ken Dean, assistant police chief. “It’s very rare you find just one victim. We have our fair share when it come to the numbers of human-trafficking victims. We have plenty of work to be done.”

Fort Worth’s major-case unit along with a detective, officer, two Homeland Security agents and a civilian task force coordinator investigate human trafficking in Fort Worth, Dean said.

Human trafficking involves forcing a person or child into the sex trades or other labor, he said.

Texas Trio Faces Human Trafficking Charges After New Mexico Traffic Stop

LEA COUNTY, N.M. (KRQE) – The Department of Homeland Security is now investigating a Texas trio.

The Lea County Sheriff’s Office says Jerry Johnson, Dequante Jackson, and Toquan Yates were stopped by a deputy just outside of Hobbs on Monday for speeding.
